BVI Ports Authority worker wins Summer promotion!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The frustrating days of standing on the road corner waiting for some kind hearted person to give her a ride or having to catch a bus is suddenly over for Ms Ackisha R. Chiddick who is now the ecstatic owner of a brand new Suzuki vehicle.
The BVI Ports Authority employee and resident of Long Look stuck key number 7 into the mini vault that had the original key for the brand new Suzuki and literally fell to the ground when it opened.
The grand drawing for the Suzuki took place earlier this evening, August 22, 2013 at the Digicel flagship store on Waterfront Drive, Tortola.
It took quite some time for the emotional woman to partly compose herself to speak to the media. With tears still flowing down her cheeks, she said "Thank you father, it was mine all along." Regarding herself as a die-hard Digicel customer and fan, Ms Chiddick said she felt no one deserved the win more than her as she has been struggling with the challenges of not having her own transportation.
"I wanted it so so bad, I live all the way at Long Look and would have to catch the bus every day to get to work or where ever I have to go," she said Digicel can consider her one of their most committed supporters as she would make daily positive Facebook comments very often to promote the company and would also call in on the Morning Ride show where she always had something positive to say.
Ms Chiddick said she is not currently the holder of a driver's license but will be heading to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) first thing tomorrow morning to start that process.
Digicel's Commercial Manager, Su Thomas described this year’s summer promotion as one of their largest and was very excited and pleased with the response of persons to the promotion. In congratulating the owner of the brand new car, she said Ms Chiddick deserved it and wished her a much more comfortable life with her new car.
