The new Suzuki XL7 –ready when you are
Want to hit the surf? Take your entire family shopping? Or a road tripwith your friends? The XL7 is the new seven-seat MPV with a dash of SUV from Suzuki that invites you to be bold.
The square-jawed SUV frontage and athletic shoulder line indicate Suzuki’s belief that you don’t have to compromise the style you want for the practicality you need. The XL7 fits your lifestyle, and does it with style–a style that’s more than just skin deep. The silver-accented interior with its carbon-fibre patterned fascia makes the XL7 as exciting inside as out. A sporty, D-shaped steering wheel increases driver legroom, while the red-accented meters with their sub-dials and a multi-information LCD display on the centre console give you all the information you need at a glance. All three rows of seats, in 2-3-2 configuration, provide plenty of headroom, legroom and elbowroom. There are sliding armrests and adjustable-height seats and automatic air-conditioning for ultimate comfort, and even ventilated cup holders to keep beverages cool while you head out on your next adventure.
And that interior is as adaptable as you need it to be. Even with all seven seats occupied, the boot gives a generous 199l capacity, while the large tailgate makes loading and unloading a breeze. Need even more space? No problem. The back seats can be folded and raised in a dizzying variety of combinations to fit the most awkward payloads. Surfboards? Family holiday luggage? Or the spoils of a mammoth shopping spree? No problem. And if you should need even more luggage capacity, the XL7’s roof rails give yet more options. Poweringthe XL7 is Suzuki’s recently introduced K15B four-cylinder 1.5l engine, producing 77Kw/103bhp, and with a choice of 4-speed automatic or five-speed manual gearbox. This engine was introduced on the new Jimny 4x4, further reinforcing the XL7’s SUV DNA. The compact dimensions of the new engine help create the generous interior space, while its highly efficient radiator extracts impressive power and torque from a relatively small package.
The new XL7 incorporates Suzuki’s innovative HEARTECT lightweight platform, introduced in the Baleno of 2018 and adopted on new models since then. This modern chassis design utilises continuous curves and advanced and high-tensile steels to distribute loads evenly. This leads to better handling, responsiveness, efficiency and safety. Combined with the aerodynamic body, it means a smooth, comfortable ride and effortless performance. Those wind-tunnel optimised aerodynamics also make for class-leading fuel economy.
