Chelsea Tuach x The Vitara
As a female athlete, I’ve never liked the stereotypes that are often associated with being a woman in sport. I’ve always admired the skilful strength that sportswomen like Stephanie Gilmore and Serena Williams display on the waves and court, yet also appreciate the dauntless elegance that accompanies their performance and personalities.
Truth is, I enjoy and fully embrace being that fiercely competitive, adventurous surfer girl - the one arriving at the beach at the crack of dawn, sporting a cute bikini with pink surfboard in tow, eager to paddle out and boldly take on the line-up for the biggest and best waves. To grace each wave with power and finesse; to show that femininity and unwavering confidence can combine to create a force of nature - to never settle for one over the other.
So, why am I telling you all of this?
Because when I’m choosing a vehicle, I don’t just want it to suit my everyday lifestyle - I want it to suit me. And I don’t think the Suzuki Vitara would like stereotypes very much either. In fact, here’s why I think the compact SUV crushes them:
The Ease Of A Compact
I couldn’t tell you the number of times I’ve been lost in an unfamiliar and bustling European city, trying to quickly find my way to the coast with a queue of angry old men ready to sit on their horns and bark at an obviously foreign, bewildered-looking blonde when I’d inevitably take too long to make the next turn.
The only reason I’ve made it out of these situations without being verbally lashed by a line-up of impatient drivers is because the Vitara has allowed me to navigate these perplexing streets with what can only be described as simple precision. It is effortlessly easy to maneuver the vehicle, making city traffic and open-road cruising a breeze.
And as a further plus - the Vitara’s fuel efficiency has got my back until I’m out of earshot of the pending onset of foreign expletives!
The Off-road Muscle of an SUV
The only thing more impressive than the Vitara’s city-handling is its off-road capabilities. The vehicle’s all-grip auto is a secret weapon of a feature, providing me with unfaltering confidence when trying to persuade my friends that the questionable track I chose will undoubtedly lead us to the perfect point break…eventually.
The Style To Top It All Off…
The roomy trunk space of the Vitara is more than equipped for packing in both the adventure crew plus all travel essentials (and non-essentials, *ahem* snacks). Entertainment starts with the 7” touchscreen, which has both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and when the crew is just about tired of scrolling through instagram, phase two of the entertainment journey lies in the epic views that the overhead panoramic sunroof offers.
The short of it is - for me, the Vitara embodies the concept of the ‘best of both worlds’, with a bit of an adventurous side. Like any assertive and spirited female athlete, behind the SUV’s sleek, elegant exterior is a boldly competent performer.
